Fusion 360 Add-in

Download Structural Framing

Free for small projects. No account, licence key or trial period required. Structural Framing runs inside Autodesk Fusion 360 on 64-bit Windows.

Download the installer (0.9.5)

Windows 64-bit · Autodesk Fusion 360 · installs for the current user · no administrator rights required.

Before you install

Close Fusion 360 first. Fusion keeps the add-in's files open while it is running, so the installer will ask you to close it and stop if it is still open.

Windows may show a security warning

The current installer is not digitally code-signed, so Windows and some browsers may display an unfamiliar-app or uncommon-download warning. This is expected for the current release. You may see two warnings:

1. When downloading

Edge or Chrome may say the file “isn’t commonly downloaded” and hold it. Open the browser’s downloads list, choose the … menu on the file, then Keep and Keep anyway.

2. When running it

Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway.

Windows 11 Smart App Control

Check this before purchasing a Pro licence. If Smart App Control is switched on, Windows can block unsigned installers without a Run anyway option. Turning Smart App Control off has system-wide consequences and normally cannot be reversed without reinstalling Windows, so the current installer should be treated as incompatible with that configuration.

Installing

  1. Close Fusion 360.
  2. Run the installer and accept the security prompts as described above.
  3. Start Fusion 360. On first run you are asked to accept the licence agreement — choose Yes. If you decline, nothing is added to the toolbar until you restart Fusion and accept.
  4. The Structural Framing tab then appears on the toolbar. If it does not, open Utilities › Scripts and Add-Ins › Add-Ins, select Structural Framing, click Run and tick Run on Startup.

Requirements

Operating systemWindows 64-bit. There is no macOS build.
Fusion 360Current release recommended. The add-in is built against Fusion's current Python; if a Fusion update changes it, the add-in tells you on startup and this page carries the matching build.
PermissionsNone special — it installs into your own user profile.

Free and Pro

Free for small projects

Start designing immediately with the included aluminium extrusion, weldment and timber profiles within the Free project limits. The Free tier does not expire and requires no account or licence key.

The free weldment set is a small starter selection — six generic tube sizes and one steel I-beam (IPE 80) — not the structural steel catalogues. The EN, AISC and other steel catalogues are in the paid Weldment module.

Pro modules

Pro modules are intended for larger or professional projects. They increase project capacity and add expanded or manufacturer-specific profile libraries and module-specific capabilities as they become available. Aluminium Extrusion Pro is planned to include a ready-to-use Bosch Rexroth manufacturer profile library, with part numbers and other profile information available to the cut-list workflow where supported. Additional Weldment and Wood Framing Pro libraries are planned, including Planed All Round (PAR) timber in metric and imperial sizes.

See pricing and current module availability. Purchased licences are activated inside the add-in from Settings.

Uninstalling

Close Fusion 360, then remove Structural Framing for Fusion 360 from Windows › Apps & features. Your preferences and logs are kept, so reinstalling does not lose your settings.

Uninstalling removes your licence from that computer, so nothing is left behind. It does not free the activation on our side, though: if you are moving to another computer, deactivate first in Settings › Licence › Deactivate — or, if you have already uninstalled, contact support and we will free it for you.
